Highways in Montenegro
The length of the network of public roads in Montenegro is 7.762 km, of which 7.141 km with a hard surface. At present, there are no roads in Montenegro built according to highway standards.
In Montenegro, there is no fee for the use of highways. Only the passage through the Sozin tunnel and the ferry in the Boka-Kotorsky Bay are payable.
Earlier in Montenegro, an environmental fee was charged (charged at the border crossing) for travel by road depending on the vehicle category, but from January 1, 2012 it was canceled.
Tariffs for passage through the Sozina tunnel
The Sozina tunnel is located north of the city of Sutomore on the E80 motorway. It is built around the mountain range "Paštrovska Gora" and has a length of 4,189 m. The tunnel has one strip in each direction. The speed limit in the tunnel is 80 km / h, overtaking is strictly prohibited.

The amount of payment can be reduced by 10% when using prepaid cards or a TAG-device, provided that for a 4-year period will be carried out at least 50 trips.
The payment station is located on the north side of the tunnel (from Podgorica). It includes 6 gates for payment of travel, which can be used in both directions.
Payment can be made in cash (EUR), bank cards, purchase of a monthly subscription or by electronic payment using the appropriate TAG device.
Tariffs for ferry in the Boka Bay of Kotor
The ferry is in the Boka Kotorsky Bay, in the Veriga Strait, between the villages of Kamenari and Lepetani. The ferry can save up to 30 minutes for those who travel from Budva to Herceg Novi or vice versa.
The distance between the banks is about 900 meters and the ferry floats it in about 10 minutes. The only negative is the possible queues in the rush hour. If you go around the bay, it will be about 42 km and the road will take about 45 minutes.

The ferry is open all year round. In the summer, ferries depart as they fill out, but at least once every 15 minutes. In the winter, during the night hours (00:00 - 05:00) the ferry leaves 1 time per hour.
Depending on the season, ferry prices can fluctuate slightly (up to € 0.5) in one direction or another.
Tickets are bought at a special kiosk on the dock before loading on the ferry. When you purchase, you will receive a cash receipt and a ticket. When entering the ferry, give the ticket to the controller. He will tear off the spine and show you the place on the ferry.
